Step 2:Upload data on a E-filing portal   

Most e-filers in India such as ClearTax, capture the data from your Form 16 when you upload the document on the website. This feature cuts down data entry significantly and reduces the chances of mistakes.

If you use ClearTax, then

1. Click on Upload your Form 16 on the home page

2. Browse for the Form-16 document and

3. Click on Upload Form-16

If you have two Form-16s with you, then you can upload the Form 16 one after the other. The order does not matter. Click on ‘Add another salary button’ to add details of your income from the second employer you worked for.

If you don’t have a Form-16, choose the Start your tax return now from the home page and enter the details manually.
